ABOUT ME!
Hi! My name is Mike Huhman and the general name for my biz is Mike's Hauling however it has evolved beyond mere truck related gigs.
I flew the coop so to speak in 1988 when i left my home state of Nebraska and moved to the Bay Area in California. Starting out as a mere side gig as i attended college, my independent streak kept me working for myself since 1993.
I have lived in various Bay Area cities including San Francisco, Oakland, Vallejo, Mountain View, Concord and am currently in Marin County.
THE GIG ECONOMY
Having witnessed the evolution of a totally new Bay Area, i saw the end of a Grateful Dead concert like vibe quickly evolve into the burgeoning tech world we all know today. While finding work the old fashioned way through freebie newspapers, in 2013 i joined Task Rabbit where i have accumulated my hard earned 2900 plus 5 star ★★★★★ ratings and reviews. I still work on the app but mostly find independent business these days

SERVICES!!!
I have remained a bit eclectic as far as work is concerned. Here are the services i provide
MOVING / HAULING / DELIVERIES / DUMP & RECYCLING RUNS with my own large FORD F150 pictured to the left. Larger truck rentals possible. It has an 8 ft bed and racks so it packs in a lot more than a standard size pickup. Second helpers can also be obtained for an additional fee. I have all the moving gear: dollies, blankets etc $60 hr
FURNITURE ASSEMBLY of all kinds with the majority probably coming from IKEA, CB2, Wayfair, Target and many more. This category also includes shelving, gym equipment or just about anything really. I have my own basic tools. $50 hr
TRUCK LOADING AND LIFTING for those who have rented their own moving truck for long distance moves or just need their own vehicles loaded $50 hr
PACKING AND UNPACKING and other moving preparations for long distance or local moves $40 hr
ORGANIZING homes, garages, storage units or anywhere really. I have worked with many professional organizers over the years and learned their trade and have a knack for making things fit nice and snugly together. I have rearranged many storage units and garages over the years $50 hr
LIGHT HANDYMAN WORK. This is conditional and would need to be discussed. If i have the tools and it's not too complicated then i can probably figure it out $50 hr
ERRANDS of any kind which could cover pretty much anything you just don't have the time or ability to accomplish $40 hr
WRITING or EDITING. While i have not done much of this i certainly can as i'm an excellent creative writer and a language nerd into linguistics, grammar and all that stuff! Prices negotiable
My work area mostly covers Marin County, San Francisco, Northern San Mateo County and the East Bay from Pinole down to Oakland however if jobs are long enough i'll drive further and for long distances i charge for driving time both directions. Occasionally i'll do long distance moves. The longest i've done was all the way to Arkansas.
